Clinical Site Coordinator
Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust
This job is now closed
Job summary
We have exciting opportunities for Clinical Site Coordinators at our hopsital sites. We currently operate at Basildon Hospital, Broomfield Hospital and Southend Hospital sites. There are a number of vacancies, which may be based at any of these hospitals.
Mid and South Essex University Foundation Trust were the first multi-site NHS organisation in the United Kingdom to implement TeleTracking. TeleTracking is a patient flow system which uses technology to improve the management of hospital admissions, transfers and discharges.
The TeleTracking system supports hospitals to drive efficiencies to improve patient flow, reduce patient waiting times, increase capacity and improve the utilisation of resources, whilst at the same time giving "time to care" back to nurses.
The Clinical Site Coordinator will co-ordinate and facilitate admissions, transfers and discharges for a site. They will ensure the appropriate use of beds and resources and maintain clinical quality and safety as well as providing clinical and professional advice and guidance to staff as required.
Main duties of the job
You will have complete real-time visibility of all beds on site. This visibility will provide you with an accurate understanding of the current state of every bed (occupied, available, dirty and clean) as well as pending and confirmed discharges and the progress of every patient against their discharge milestones. With this information, you will be responsible for the accurate placement of every patient waiting for an inpatient bed. Successful applicants will also support the clinical teams and work closely with key stakeholders on the acute sites to support the flow of patients from the front door to the back door.
This new technology enables the "auto discharge" of patients which alerts a dedicated bed cleaning team who turn the bed around swiftly for the next patient. Porters will be using Teletracking technology to move ready patients to ready beds, reducing delays and allowing the teams on the ground and in the Control Centre to focus on our patients.
If you think you have what it takes to be part of this exciting initiative and you are passionate about great patient care, we would love to hear from you.
