Job summary

An exciting vacancy has arisen for an IT Infrastructure Programme Manager within the Mid And South Essex NHS Foundation Trust's Digital Services Transformation team.

Following the merge of three regional hospitals into a single Trust, a substantial digital transformation programme is underway to consolidate three locally hosted and disparate technology environments into a consolidated 'cloud first' operating model.

The digital transformation programme is delivering a hybrid cloud environment, incorporating modern locally hosted and Cloud technology platforms. Connectivity will be provided by upgraded WAN and existing LANs consolidated onto new network platforms which will support Unified Comms technologies. The programme includes a complex migration and consolidation of end user and enterprise technologies such as AD, Nutanix HCI, Backups, Microsoft Windows10, Citrix and Office365 platforms including SharePoint and Intune.

The role has responsibility for the programme of work to deliver these and future technologies, interacting with and supporting a wider team of professionals delivering a wide range of technology services. Co-ordination of numerous technical and operational inter-dependencies will be required to deliver consolidated technology platforms that support modern ways of working.

Main duties of the job

Candidate's should have experience in programme managing the delivery of complex technical programmes. Whilst a technical background will be beneficial it is not an essential pre-requisite for the role.

This is a fantastic opportunity leading a dedicated team of technical and project professionals working with and deploying the latest technology platforms to help the delivery of innovative and effective patient care.

The post holder will be responsible for the digital infrastructure programme of works to enable the Trust digital transformation from three locally hosted and disparate technical environments to a consolidated 'cloud first' operating model. This role is essential to co-ordinate the numerous technical and operational inter-dependencies required to deliver consolidated technology platforms that support modern ways of working.

The post holder will be flexible and adaptable with experience of implementing assistive technologies and digital infrastructure systems.

The Digital Infrastructure Programme Manager will also actively contribute to the overall Informatics strategy and policy development, efficiency and effectiveness of the IT Department as a whole. They will have an excellent understanding of IT trends, current and emerging technologies and a comprehensive knowledge of national HSCIC policy and latest thinking on the strategic direction of Healthcare Informatics.
