Job summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced nurse. We are a motivated and friendly team, and we are excited to offer this fantastic opportunity to further develop acute surgical skills, whilst improving knowledge and skills in nursing leadership and management We work very closely with excellent teams of Clinical Nurse Specialists who provide support and expertise to all staff members to ensure we always provide and maintain the highest standards of care for our patients.

You will be supported fully by the existing senior nursing team to develop and achieve your objectives and knowledge in this role.Laindon West ward supports and promotes our Trust Values of "One team together ". MSE has been rated GOOD in the most recent Care Quality Commission visit.

Main duties of the job

As our Junior Sister/Charge Nurse is required to:

a. Provide a high standard of individualized care to patients, acting as a role model and supporting the Senior Sister/Charge nurse in driving quality care provision forward

b. Be responsible for standards of cleanliness in their own clinical area in partnership with the Senior Sister

c. Provide clear clinical leadership to staff, deputizing for the Senior Charge Nurse in her/his absence.

d. To support the maintenance of high standards of cleanliness in their own clinical area.

You will direct, supervise and monitor the provision of nursing care in accordance with individual care plans, maintaining high standards of patient care, assisting with budgetary control at ward level, participate in the management of the hospital in accordance with the Trust's Duty Coordinator Policy and plan and implement ward based teaching programmes assessing the training needs of ward staff in liaison with the Clinical Practice Educator.
