You will have an educational supervisor for regular progress meetings and be expected to take part in all the teaching programmes in the department, your rota will give you an average of 4 hours per week CPD time protected off the shop floor, the department will also pay the course fee for you to get all 3 life support courses- adult, paediatric and trauma and you would be expected to take part in audit and QIP.

Main duties of the job

All clinicians provide 24 hour cover for the Emergency department as an integrated team, led by the consultants 0800-22:00, and are responsible for ensuring that a high standard of care is provided for all the Emergency Department patients. Providing 24 hour shop floor cover is an essential part of the commitment and you must show the required clinical skills and experience and be able to demonstrate an ability to work as part of a team.

You, in conjunction with the senior nurse, will be responsible for monitoring departmental performance and for maximizing performance; keeping waiting times within nationally agreed standards and delivering personally high quality medical care to National Standards.
