Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a subject matter expert in Emergency Planning and Business Continuity to lead a team in a newly merged organisation.
The role will involve ensuring that adequate plans are in place to respond to significant and major incidents, ensuring that departments maintain adequate Business Continuity Plans, coordinating the delivery of training to the on call teams and providing assurance to the senior leadership that the organisation is prepared as much as possible for incidents outside of business as usual.
Main duties of the job
This role will be responsible for leading the emergency preparedness, resilience and response (EPRR) and business continuity agenda for the Trust on behalf of the Chief Executive and Deputy Chief Executive as the Trust Accountable Emergency Officers (AEOs). The Emergency Planning Liaison Officer is the strategic advisor for Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR) and will be the subject expert within the organisation. The post holder is responsible for ensuring that the EPRR team provides an effective response to any major or significant incident in line with current national guidance, the NHS England Emergency Preparedness Framework (2015) and within the terms of the Civil Contingencies Act (2004).
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all relevant emergency preparedness plans and guidance is developed and the Trust has effective plans in place to enable achievement of the standards required by the Civil Contingencies Act (2004) and national emergency preparedness guidance and provide continual revision in accordance with any newly published guidance or changes in existing guidance.
