Job summary
Are you a dynamic, forward thinking band 6 Dermatology nurse or band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist?
The South Essex Dermatology Service, based at Basildon Hospital is looking for a nurse to undertake nurse led clinics and surgery across several sites, including Southend and Broomfield Hospitals, and our various satellite clinics covering the South of Essex.
Your will also be responsible for the day to day management of the Dermatology service and staff along with the current band 7 nurses, acting as a senior nurse in charge and working, on occasions, at both the Basildon and Southend Hospital sites and any of the outreach sites.
Main duties of the job
In your role you will ensure effective communication with patients, relatives and carers, that due regard is given to customs, values and spiritual beliefs of all users of the service, and oversee and work with all members of the Dermatology nursing team and clinical colleagues, and other members of the multi disciplinary team, to ensure that best practice is provided and maintained. You will be a specialist resource for colleagues, and will run your own clinics, managing your own workload as required.
You will liaise with appropriate departments to ensure that adequate levels of supplies are maintained, all users of the service to facilitate a seamless approach to patient care and work with clerical staff to ensure efficient effective management of clinics..
You will also be responsible for staff management duties including appraisals, sickness management and performance management as required, alongside the existing band 7 nurses.
Report to the Matron on all aspects of clinical activities, including significant changes affecting provisions of nursing care.
This role will include cross-site travel, therefore a willingness and ability to travel between sites is essential, as is flexibility at short notice.
