Job summary
Our Specialty Medicine service has a fantastic opportunity to join its supportive and engaging team as our Deputy General Manager (DGM), you will be accountable to the Deputy Director of Operations your purpose will be to support and deputise for the General Manager to ensure that both strategic and operational demands are met.
Your role will be responsible for the delivery of clinical services within and across the division, for assessing the impact of change and making decisions, balancing risks and priorities, and for providing advice to the Divisional Management Team and delivery of a strategic vision and ensure service changes meet internal and external expectations and standards.
Your post is responsible for implementing and managing systems and processes to ensure that all services are delivered in accordance with Trust-wide policies and will have direct line management responsibility for service unit managers and the delivery and performance management of those services which in the first instance this will include the review and, where necessary, the development of mechanisms for performance management at service level.
Main duties of the job
Your role reports into the Deputy Director of Operations and works closely with the Clinical Director, named clinical leads and Deputy Director of Nursing and is to ensure we deliver high quality services, provide an excellent experience for our patients and meet our regulatory and operational performance targets and will be supported by strong senior leadership teams you will seek, share and drive opportunities to deliver high standards of clinical care whilst ensuring delivery of operational, financial and transformational agenda.
Within the Specialist Medicine division you will have accountability and responsibility for a broad portfolio and work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure safe and effective service delivery and will use your ability to engage and lead teams through change and act as an expert negotiator will be vital.
You will deliver a selection of productivity schemes and therefore will have strong business management skills coupled with sound financial knowledge.
