Job summary

Our Pathology service has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual looking to develop their expertise and knowledge around quality and patient safety to provide strategic nursing / professional leadership to the delivery of the Pathology Services across the organisation.

You will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) and with other internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of the Pathology services. You will use improvement tools and practice development techniques to drive forward service quality for Pathology Services.

Your role of the Lead Nurse/Professions for Pathology Service will have leadership responsibility for all Mortuary services and quality compliance for all Clinical Pathology services across Mid & South Essex Hospitals.

Main duties of the job

As our Lead Nurse/Professions - Pathology role you will integrate into the existing team to carry out inclusive leadership, professional standards, and accountability, line management of Mortuary Services across MSE, governance, patient safety and quality, environmental cleanliness and Infection prevention and Control, workforce planning and resource management and patient experience and reducing health inequalities.

You will also be responsible for performance and operational oversight, digital and information technology, education, training, and development. research and Development, collaborative working and clinical effectiveness and service improvement and transformation.

You will be an experienced nurse/professional, registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council or HCPC, able to practice at a senior level, a forward thinking, enthusiastic and conscientious team player; able to prioritise workloads, and use your own initiative to engage with a wide range of clinical and non- clinical colleagues to develop an equitable, standardised high quality service within MSE.
