Job summary
Our Acute Stroke Ward Florence Nightingale I has a wonderful opportunity for a Charge Nurse to join its supportive, friendly team to workas an integral member of the ward team, you will expand, develop and utilise clinical, educational, research and leadership skills to enhance and optimise clinical practice within Florence Nightingale.
It is envisaged that the you will act as a change agent, participating in the development and implementation of innovative and new ways of working, ensuring service provision remains fit for purpose as well as promoting Trust objectives and will practice greater professional autonomy and assume greater responsibility for decision making within the clinical setting, supported by agreed protocols and guidelines support the Ward Manager in the provision of operational management and clinical leadership for the ward.
Main duties of the job
Your role will be to take a lead in the assessment and management of patients, applying specialist clinical knowledge and skill to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate patient care, utilising an individual, holistic approach and to take appropriate action to determine ongoing patient management plans according to agreed protocols, along with providing an advanced nursing role in the care of patients, ensuring evidence based practice is implemented.Your role will involve working collaboratively with senior medical staff regarding assessment of patients and subsequent admission and/or discharge Florence nightingale , according to agreed protocols, managing the beds within the Ward in conjunction with the bed manager and Stroke nurse toensure the beds are utilised effectively thus facilitating the timely admission and subsequent management of identified patients at the earliest opportunity.
You will participate in the development and implementation of new ways of working which require an expansion of existing roles and liaise with, and refer to, members of the multi-disciplinary team as appropriate and participate in team decisions regarding treatment and discharge.
