We are a 16 bedded critical care unit with 8 level 3 beds and 8 level 2 beds. These beds are used flexibly between level 3 and level 2. We admit medical and surgical patients from across the Hospital Trust. We offer you an exciting opportunity to work within a dedicated and friendly team committed to high quality patient care.

We are looking to appoint a dynamic and skilled individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to work as clinical Shift leader, and to provide visible nursing leadership and an effective and high quality patient focused service.

Main duties of the job

  • Providing holistic care to level 2 and level 3 patients.
  • Responsible for the training and supervision of junior staff and the leadership of the unit as a whole.
  • To work as part of the multidisciplinary team fostering good inter-departmental relationships and helping to achieve high morale for patients and staff and continuous quality improvement.
  • Clinically and professionally expected to make autonomous decisions on a daily basis including provision of advice to junior staff in clinical decision making.
