The opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our team in the ENT/EYE OPD. We are a unique specialty that is multi-site working. You will be supported to achieve competency assessments, and promoted to partake in CPD. There are also opportunities to progress throughout the department. Our department is committed in providing staff with an environment in which they can reach their potential. We are dedicated to staff learning and engagement.
Previous surgical experience is preferable, however, not essential. Applicants will need to show an interest in this area of practice and a commitment to the service in delivering quality and individual care to patients.
Applicants should have or be waiting to receive their UK Nursing Registration (NMC). It is essential you have good time management, team working and the ability to work under pressure. You should be able to work on your own initiative but have the ability to escalate any issues or concerns to a senior member of the team. A structured preceptorship period of training and development will be provided with the support of the training department and staff in the department.
Main duties of the job
An important aspect of the role will be promoting a positive, supportive working environment which values and supports staff. Good communication skills are essential and this will need to be demonstrated at interview. Individuals should be flexible and be able to demonstrate they are an excellent role model with the ability to develop positive and professional interpersonal relationships.
You must be a registered RGN. The successful applicant must be reliable, punctual and be able to accommodate a flexible shift pattern. Applicants must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to manage time and prioritise workload along with the ability to work under pressure.
