This is an exciting opportunity to join the MSK & Therapies Clinical Service Unit (CSU) as Deputy General Manager, supporting the General Manager and CSU triumvirate to deliver safe, high-quality, and sustainable services for patients.
The post holder will play a key leadership role in the day-to-day operational management of the CSU, supporting performance across access, finance, quality, and workforce. Working closely with clinical and managerial colleagues, you will help ensure services are responsive, well-governed, and aligned with Trust strategy and priorities.
You will contribute to service improvement, transformation, and problem-solving, maintaining a strong focus on patient experience, clinical safety, and quality. The role requires balancing operational delivery with longer-term service development, ensuring performance and business integrity are upheld alongside high standards of care.
Working Trust-wide under the direction of the General Manager, you will represent them at meetings as required and act as a visible, supportive leader for clinical teams, fostering strong collaborative relationships.
This role would suit an experienced operational manager seeking a developmental step into a senior leadership role within a complex, clinically driven environment.
Main duties of the job

Support the General Manager in delivering all local and national performance targets, working collaboratively with clinical and managerial colleagues to develop and implement sustainable solutions to operational challenges.

Take responsibility for the day-to-day operational delivery of services within the agreed portfolio, leading and embedding change management initiatives that improve service quality, efficiency, and patient experience.

Influence and contribute to the strategic development of services, working closely with Clinical Directors, General Managers, and Deputy Directors of Nursing to shape and deliver service improvement priorities.

Lead and deliver strategic development and transformation programmes as required, ensuring alignment with Trust objectives and clinical strategy.

Ensure robust performance management across all areas of responsibility, with clear oversight of access, quality, workforce, and financial performance.

Manage resources effectively, including workforce, estates, and finances, in line with agreed objectives and within the parameters set by the General Manager.
