An opportunity has arisen for two motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join the Paediatrics Team in the role of a 37.5 hpw Band 3 Support Secretary working between our teams at SLH & BRI.

Previous NHS experience is desirable.

Main duties of the job

For the Support Secretary role you will be supporting the Medical Secretarial Team and be responsible for a range of duties related to patient pathway management, including; processing of clinical letters using the T-Pro digital dictation system, ensuring RTT is recorded accurately with relation to National and Local RTT standards, production of reports and other correspondence, Data Quality improvement and validation using the Trusts Pathway Validation Apps and cleansing of all EPR waiting lists as required by the Medical Team and Team Manager. Supporting with general office duties which include patient phones, uploading of referrals and correspondence to EPR, appointment bookings, sorting and distributing of post, communicating changes to consultants and any other adhoc requests.

Candidates should be literate and numerate, with excellent organisational, time management, IT skills, the ability to work effectively as part of a team and to work without supervision.

Medical secretarial experience is desirable but not essential. You will have a high standard of communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff at all levels. You will have enthusiasm, motivation and demonstrate pride in your work.
