Job summary
Applications are invited for a Senior Clinical Fellow to work in the Vascular Surgery team at the Bradford Royal Infirmary Arterial Centre, commencing on or after 4th February 2026.
Please note this post is vacant until 6th October 2026.
The posts aims to provide experience of working at a middle grade/registrar level in Vascular Surgery, assessing and providing care for patients with planned and unplanned presentations to the arterial centre. The post will suit and individual who needs to develop more experience and portfolio in surgical discipline and offers an opportunity to enhance access to higher surgical training, or a candidate who has already trained in vascular surgery who wants to gain additional clinical and operative experience.
Main duties of the job
o The post-holder will be part of the vascular surgery team working as part of the team delivering vascular services to the WYVaS west network, and will have responsibility for diagnosis and treatment of patients at the hospitals and clinics at which you have duties
o The post-holder will be responsible for the continuing treatment of patients under their care
o The post-holder will be expected to be responsible for personal performance of duties as agreed in the formal job plan
o The post-holder will be expected to demonstrate commitment to the Trust's clinical governance and risk strategy, and adhere to all Trust Policies and Procedures
o The post-holder will be expected to uphold standards and ensure these are developed through methods such as audit, evidence-based research and appraisal
o The post-holder will be expected to work flexibly with colleagues to achieve the agreed planned activity for the service
o The post-holder should ensure that new techniques (outside ethically approved research projects) are only introduced after appropriate training, with approval of the relevant clinical directorates and with arrangements for evaluation and an audit trail.
o Any other duties necessary for the successful performance of the role, commensurate with the grade.

There are 11Consultant Vascular Surgeons and a dedicated vascular ward. The post holder will be an integral part of this team and be able to gain experience of planned and unplanned admissions for a population of over 1 million. The role will incorporate outpatient clinics, endovenous treatments and vascular operating theatres. The department has an active research profile and a strong teaching recordthe successful applicants will be encouraged to take part in research, Quality Improvement and teaching as well as accessing the educational opportunities associated with the department.
