We are looking for a Band 4 Health Care Support Worker to join our team looking after children with complex health needs.

Are you an experienced Health Care Support Worker with a background in caring for children with complex health needs?

Would you like to work in a varied community role with lots of learning opportunities?

Do you have a car and a current full UK/ EU driving Licence? (Essential)

The successful applicant will work independently in the child's home or other selected areas to provide an excellent level of professional care to these children and their families. The care delivered will encompass meeting clinical needs and also providing play and social interaction

There will be many opportunities for development and an expectation to take on new challenges. An extensive training and development package will be provided to ensure you are both competent and confident in supporting children within their own home environment.

Main duties of the job

The Children's Continuing care team is a service within Bradford, supporting families with children who have complex health needs. The service allows families some much needed respite time day and night.

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced health care support worker to join our friendly team.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be trustworthy and professional.

A minimum of NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) is essential and ideally 'L3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship/NVQ Level 3' (or equivalent)

There will be an opportunity to undertake further learning alongside the role to complete 'L3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship' if needed. This will be done alongside the role 1 day a week within the trust. *subject to availability*

Whilst undertaking the 'L3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship', a trainee band 4, salary would be paid at 75% of band 4 agenda for change. Upon completion salary will be adjusted to Band 4 agenda for change.

This is a 7 day service and the rota will include days and nights.

Experience of working with children with complex needs is essential, including experience of non-invasive ventilation and tracheostomy care.

Some awareness of the management of life limiting conditions would also be beneficial.
