This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, proactive and supportive palliative care team as a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist. The postholder will be responsible for providing expert specialist palliative care advice including complex physical, psychological and emotional needs and education to clinical colleagues, patients and their families. There will also be the opportunity for personal & professional development following a Core Competency Framework. The postholder will also be involved in the development and support of junior staff within the team and the wider workforce through the provision of formal and informal training.
The job will involve travelling between the two sites (Bradford Royal Infirmary and St Luke's Hospital).The team provide a 7 day face to face service and as such the role involves a 7 day working pattern.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be responsible for the management of a defined caseload (patients/service-users) and will provide highly specialist nursing/midwifery support, advice, education and/or care to that specific group. They will carry continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, including setting of standards of care, and take a lead role in establishing evidence-based education and practice within the Palliative Care Team.
