We have an opportunity for a motivated, forward thinking and dynamic physiotherapist to join the Hand Therapy Team. Working alongside the MDT you will be responsible for the specialist Hand Therapy for Plastic's Surgery, Trauma and Orthopaedic Hand conditions.
The post holder will be based within a therapy team in outpatient settings and MDT clinics.
This role will offer the post holder the opportunity to work as part of an integrated Hand Service including Consultants, Nurses and other Therapists. Referrals come from Surgeons, Plastic Surgery, Orthopaedics and Primary Care.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the delivery of highly specialised Hand Therapy to support patients with a variety of complex hand conditions. The successful applicant will be given support and training to meet development needs.
Main duties of the job
- To undertake complex clinical duties and use advanced practices, procedures and interventions safely within the current legislative framework.
- The post integrates expert clinical practice, training and education, strategic planning and service development along with research and audit activity.
- To act as a source of specialist advice and expertise in the physiotherapeutic management of Hand conditions and provide advisory service to patients, other therapists, GP, consultants and other professionals.
- To work multi-professionally for efficient and effective patient care, including attending MDT meetings around patients with Hand conditions
- The post holder will be required to work as a specialist and provide advanced assessment and treatment of patients with complex. The post holder will have responsibility for participating in education of qualified staff including post graduate physiotherapists to master level study, GPs, medical staff and other health and professionals. The post holder will work closely with Consultants, and GPs.
- The post holder will undertake projects and contribute to the planning of Hand Service developments as required.
