We are seeking an experienced researcher with expertise in research project management and qualitative research methodologies to take a lead role in a new research grant funded by National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). The study will aim to explore what makes it easier or harder for older people with frailty to manage their hearing loss and identify ways to better support them. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a world-class research centre and to work with internationally-renowned experts.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the delivery of this project. This will involve setting up the research project and assume day-to-day responsibility for project management activities. The post holder will take a lead in implementing qualitative research for the study. Duties will include:o Co-ordinating applications for ethical and regulatory approvalso Conducting interviews with older people in their homeso Analysing data using qualitative methodso Synthesising data collected using different methodso Hosting workshops with health care professionals and lay participants to review findings and generate recommendations.
Other responsibilities will include public engagement activities, data management, budget management, co-ordinating the activity of another researcher, convening project management team meetings, and providing regular progress reports.
The successful candidate will have a post-graduate degree or equivalent experience/qualification in a health or health/social care research related subject, have experience in project management, and considerable experience in undertaking and analysing qualitative research. Experience of conducting workshops with health care professionals and patients is desirable.
There is an expectation that the post holder will be prepared to work flexibly and travel as required for data collection, as well as local/regional/national meetings/events.
