We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and aspiring Physiotherapist to join our dynamic and friendly service to gain valuable experience working in a Hospital Foundation Trust.This exciting post includes:o The opportunity to work in our Rheumatology team treating referrals from Rheumatology Consultants, Specialist Nurses and GPs.o Close working in a supportive environment with Specialist Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants.o To develop individual patient management skills and opportunities to partake / lead group sessions for patients such as Hydrotherapy, long term conditions groups and to take part in the 'Early Arthritis Clinic' working with the specialised MDT. To assist in the daily management of hydrotherapy.o An opportunity to develop specialist skills in physiotherapy management of patients with haemophilia.o Access to regular IST, supervision sessions and ongoing support from Senior Clinicians, including Advanced Practice Physiotherapists in order to build your knowledge and skills in treating rheumatology conditions. There are also opportunities for involvement in service development, audit and clinical governance and all staff take part in the appraisals programme.
Main duties of the job
- To assess, develop and implement physiotherapy treatment.
- Tohold responsibility for own case load and be responsible for an area of the service or a particular patient type, working without direct supervision and within clearly defined operational policies and procedures.
- To perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations, to provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme.
- To work as part of therapuetic team including therapeutic assistants and Occupational Therapist, to achieve holistic patient goals. Delegating, referring and completing joint assessments where suitable.
- To undertake evidence-based audit and research projects to further own and team's clinical practice. Make recommendations to clinical lead/manager or service for changes to practice by the team. May lead the implementation of specific changes to practice or contribute to service protocols.
