The job holder will provide administrative and clerical support across the service. This includes booking patients into Accident & Emergency and the Urgent Care Treatment Centre. To work as part of a busy and fast paced team to provide a courteous and efficient administration service within the Emergency Care Clinical Business Unit incorporating the Accident & Emergency Department and Urgent Care Treatment Centre.
Main duties of the job
Register patients in the Accident & Emergency Department using the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) accessible through FirstNet. This will involve undertaking identification and Child Protection checks using integrated NHS systems such as the NHS Spine and Summary Care Service.
The post holder will also provide a reception service to the Urgent Treatment Centre.
The post holder will use System One to make appointments for patients who have been streamed to the GP service in the Urgent Treatment Centre using the information provided on Firstnet.

An opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the Patient Administration team within the Accident and Emergency Department and Urgent Treatment Centre. This is a very demanding role which covers the reception area of the Accident and Emergency department and the Urgent Treatment Centre where the successful person will be on the `front line` of patient contact.
The successful candidate will be required to work a full internal rotation system, covering shifts that are both days, evenings 7 days a week including Bank Holidays. Previous experience within an acute hospitals setting is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
