We are looking to recruit a Capital Programme Manager (Minor Works) to work closely with the Capital, Estates and Facilities Senior Management Team and other Trust Senior Managers.
The Capital Programme Manager (Minor Works) will have responsibility for both overseeing and delivering Capital Projects or programmes of projects up to a value of c. £3M, supporting the Senior Head of Capital Delivery in the provision of leadership and management to support the successful delivery of the hospitals physical estate strategy.
The Capital Programme Manager (Minor Works) will be responsible for managing the Capital Minor Works Projects Team , providing strong leadership to ensure all projects are briefed, designed, delivered, monitored and governed within strict budgetary and specification constraints; delivered to a high standard of quality and in a consistent and professional manner.
Main duties of the job
The Capital Programme Manager (Minor Works) will manage both internal and external professional teams, required to provide project management, design, building surveying, quantity surveying, engineering and clerk of work services, to complete schemes from low value c. £1k to c. £3M in value. Responsible for ensuring suitable and competent resources are provided, making sure each scheme is efficiently delivered from inception through to post-occupancy evaluation.
The Capital Programme Manager (Minor Works) will work with Estates and Facilities colleagues to inform the production of various Trust specification, guidelines and quality standards, with a pro-active and enthusiastic approach to identify and implement 'best practice' principals both internally and externally.

- Significant relevant project management experience at a mid to senior level in a large complex organisation (preferably NHS).
- Previous experience in managing complex capital projects, within complex operational environments, to time/cost/quality and within budget requirements.
- Capital project procurement experience.
- Experience of delivering complex projects, new build and refurbishment, within a similar organisation.
- Thorough understanding of the construction process, project/brief and business case development, through to post occupancy evaluation (whole project lifecycle).
- Ability to identify and implement 'best practice' project procedures.
- Experience in managing a diverse workforce.
- Experience in annual planning and business planning processes.
- Financial and budget management experience.
- Previous experience of working at a senior level in the NHS or a similar large organisation to deliver high value projects within complex operational environments.
- Demonstrable experience of managing and implementing change.

- Experience of the design, development, implementation and integration into large estate/facilities management systems (e.g. ICT, Asset Management/Maintenance).
