An opportunity has arisen for two motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join the Women's Services Maternity Administration Team in the role of Patient Administration Clerks working within the Women and Newborn Unit at Bradford Royal Infirmary. Both posts are 34 hours per week., working 4 days, one of which will be a long day, 08.30 - 20.00 with one hour lunch break. The post holders will be required to work flexibly, covering occasional Saturdays or Sundays on a rotational basis.
You will have a high standard of communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff at all levels. Please see the attached Job Description and Person Specification for further details.

Main duties of the job
- To assist colleagues with workload, providing administrative support relating to the Consultants, Midwives, Nursing staff, and their teams
- Provide Reception cover and effectively communicate with patients, visitors and staff face to face.
- To input clinical/administrative data such as referrals, booking outpatient appointments, and entering inpatient activity
- Works in close liaison with secretaries and assists in the smooth running of the department to undertake other clerical duties as delegated by the colleagues as and when required.
- Cover for colleagues during periods of sickness, annual leave or training which may include management of own workload when necessary for short periods of time throughout the year (with support and guidance from seniors when required).
- Required to receive and manage telephone and personal enquiries, often of a sensitive nature in a constructive and sympathetic manner, referring to the appropriate person where necessary and rerouting these calls when required.
