We are looking for organised, motivated and enthusiastic Community Research Assistants to join our community team

The post holder will be working as part of a team and be involved in the day to day running of studies hosted by Born in Bradford, in particular our new Healthy Homes study. This includes promoting Born in Bradford studies, informing and recruiting individuals and families and collecting data and samples within their own home.

The post holder will need to have experience of working in a community or healthcare setting,be organised and able to work under their own initiative to meet tight deadlines, as well as being approachable and friendly mannered..

These posts will require some weekend work and may require working evenings up to 7pm

We welcome applications for part and full-time applicants with hours available from a minimum of 22.5 up to 37.5 hours per week (full time)

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be involved in all aspects of the day to day running of the Born in Bradford studies they are working on. The daily duties include approaching, recruiting and consenting participants in the hospital, and in a variety of community settings including in participants own home, arranging and undertaking home visits; collecting data by conducting semi structured interviews and obtaining health related measurements from participants .

The community research assistant may also be responsible for taking biological samples, such as blood, urine or hair samples from adults and children as part of the data collection process. Where this is required for a study, full training will be provided.
