We are seeking an experienced Research Project Manager to take a lead role in developing the Wellbeing in Later Life in Bradford cohort as a novel risk-stratified longitudinal cohort to investigatefactors that may improve or reduce wellbeing in later life. Main duties of the job
The post holder will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the delivery of this project. The post holder will take the lead in the setup and day-to-day running of the cohort, which will include liaison with general practices, Clinical Research Networks and line management of Ageing Researchers. Other responsibilities will include public engagement activities, data management and analysis, and providing regular progress reports.
The successful candidate will have a post-graduate degree or equivalent experience/qualification in management or a health or health/social care research related subject, have experience in leading projects, managing a team and implementing cohort studies/randomised controlled trials. Clinical and /or research experience in the field of elderly care and/or palliative care is essential.
There is an expectation that the post holder will be prepared to work flexibly and travel as required to attend local/regional/national meetings/events.

Establish a robust project management framework to ensure timely project delivery. Take a leadership role in implementing the study, working closely with colleagues locally and nationally. Working as appropriate with colleagues in the Clinical Research Network and academic colleagues in the collaborating universities. Ensure that research governance procedures and data protection is adhered to at all times according to local and national guidance. Manage workload to ensure that research studies are completed within timescales. Work with software developer/ database manager/ IT team to develop systems to manage and utilise research data. Dissemination of research results, contributing to writing of academic papers in high impact journals and undertaking national and international presentations. Assist in meeting research targets for completion and dissemination of research findings. Line management responsibility for staff e.g. Ageing Researchers, delegating as required. To undertake relevant training as appropriate to undertake the research. Work with clinical teams and partner organisations across health and social care to determine required actions to deliver the project and develop a project plan. Lead in preparation of documentation for ethics committee approval. Monitor and manage deliverables within the project plan, ensuring people assigned responsibility for tasks complete these on time. Lead development of the assessment schedule, including selecting validated measures to record participant information, harmonising with other ageing research longitudinal cohort studies where possible, presenting findings in a comprehensible and appropriate format for the audience Chief Investigators, wider team and collaborators. Ensure effective systems are in place to monitor study progress, and where appropriate make appropriate adjustments to make sure project timescales are achieved. Provide monthly project updates to the Chief Investigators and wider team. Track, manage and escalate risks to the successful delivery of the research programme. Plan and implement a robust system for auditing the delivery of the projects according to the contractual requirements of the research. Work with procurement and finance teams to setup suppliers, including tendering process as required. Contribute to resource and budget planning and assist in management of project budgets.
