Job summary
Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Therapy Services have an opportunity for an enthusiastic person to join our In Patient Therapy team, based predominantly at Bradford Royal Infirmary.
You will need to possess, or be willing to train towards, a level 2 qualification in healthcare.
The successful applicant will work alongside a team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and other support staff in the stroke and neurology team, supporting patients with their rehabilitation.
Once trained and competent; you may also undertake a treatment programmes independently.
You need to be able to support and motivate patients to enable them to recover from illness and injury and regain independence which can include both adults and children.
You will need to be an excellent communicator and demonstrate the willingness to learn new skills. The job is very "hands on" and involves actively supporting patients for example with manual handling, practicing exercises or functional activities.

Main duties of the job
You will be working alongside physiotherapists and occupational therapists to provide excellent care to our patients that are under the care of the stroke and neurology team. treatment and assessment is provided mainly within a ward and gym environment. The role will also include supporting therapists to take patients home and assess in their own environment.
You will need to be able to support clinical staff to provide therapy interventions and also work independently to practice exercise or functional tasks with patients.
To ensure the day to day running of the department is successful. This will involve some administration tasks, as well as cleaning and equipment and stock checks.
