Job summary

Ward clerk duties as front of house for ICU.

Greeting relatives and visiting specialties to the unit

Main duties of the job

Assisting and greeting families and friends of patients on the unit as a receptionist

Filing and record keeping

Answering the telephone and dealing with day to day enquiries

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of using all Microsoft Office applications including spreadsheets, EXCEL, power point etc.
  • Previous experience in a secretarial / administrative role
  • Experience of working in the health service
  • Knowledge of medical terminology

Desirable

  • Knowledge / experience of EPR
  • Knowledge and experience of ICNARC

Skills

Essential

  • Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent
  • Good general education

Desirable

  • Qualification in use of Microsoft office applications
