Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic nurse to join the Bradford Endoscopy team and undergo a two-year intensive training towards becoming a nurse endoscopist.
Upon completion of the 12-18 month training, the post holder will provide specialist knowledge, investigation and treatment in the diagnosis, management and clinical care of patients with upper and lower intestinal disease.
The post holder will be working at a band 6 role in the early stage of the training and will progress to a Band 7on completion of required skills and training working towards a band 8a post upon completion of further training as per full pledged nurse endoscopist
Main duties of the job
The post holder will assist in developing and promoting nurse led endoscopy services in collaboration with the Clinical lead and Senior General Manager whilst working as an autonomous practitioner undertaking diagnostic and therapeutic investigations for patients requiring GI endoscopy procedures.
The post holder will be working towards providing specialist knowledge, investigation and treatment in the diagnosis, management and clinical care of patients with upper and lower intestinal disease in due course.
The post holder must be able to demonstrate experience of working as a nurse with an in depth knowledge and understanding of the needs of the specific patient group and high level knowledge of BSG, GRS and JAG standards.
The successful candidate requires excellent organizational and communication skills, and must be committed to providing high quality care.
The post holder will autonomously deliver care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
The post holder will be responsible for the clinical advice training and education to support patients, relatives and other healthcare professionals.

Clinical Quality and Safety
- Carries and continuous responsibility for a defined patient caseload of patients, acting as the patient advocate and supporting their environment in decision making about their care.
- Develop and provide Nurse led Endoscopy Sessions in collaboration with the Clinical and Nursing staff.
