Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join the Command Centre providing administrative support to the team.
The Command Centre works with patient care areas, support services, administration, and others to implement strategies to ensure seamless patient care, capacity management, efficient patient flow, improved access and quality care. The goals of the Command Centre are to ensure the placement of the right patient in the right care setting at the right time, reducing unnecessary length of stay (LloS) and delays in care along the patient care pathway, including reducing missed transfer opportunities.
The Command Centre utilises the wall of analytical data required to predict and drive decisions in real time. Metrics are tracked, and outcomes reported to sustain an environment of continuous transformational improvement.
Candidates must have insight and interest in operational management, patient flow and acute services.
The Command Centre operates 24/7; 365 days and the successful candidate will be expected to work shifts including weekends.
The post offers diversity and an opportunity to gain clinical site management and patient flow experience working closely with all Trust clinical areas.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide a comprehensive administration and clerical service to the Command Centre.
To be responsible for answering all telephone calls in the Command Centre and directing enquires to appropriate member of staff.
To have good IT skills essential to the support of all elements of the Command Centre functions.
To book all on the day discharged patient transport to ensure timely, smooth exist from the hospital.
To contribute for the smooth running of the hospital sites working closely with Operations Centre.
The post holder is considered to be a key member of the Command Centre, supporting patient flow, ensuring elective and urgent demand is well managed.

- Liaise closely with wards, the Emergency Department and Clinical Patient Flow Managers to effectively navigate patient flow throughout the hospital.
