Job summary
We have 2 posts available within Implementation Science team of the Yorkshire and Humber Applied Research Collaboration (YHARC), that is based within the Improvement Academy. Our team provides implementation science support to teams across the region to support practical implementation and reduce the timeframe between theory and practice. Our team has expertise in health services research, improvement and behavioural science, implementation and implementation science, and evaluation. We are seeking a Band 6 researcher with expertise in qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods research to join us.
Main duties of the job
The Implementation Science team is co-led by Dr Michael McCooe and Dr Vishal Sharma, who are the Clinical Director and Associate Director of the Improvement Academy, respectively. We are all part of the Bradford Institute for Health Research. This post, therefore, provides a great opportunity to also collaborate with colleagues in these teams too and to further develop your research career.
The YHARC is one of 15 ARCs across the country. ARCs foster collaboration between NHS, social care, third sector and industry organisations, and leading universities. The aim is to transform services, improve peoples' health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities. Different ARCs have different research themes. The YHARC has four core themes:
- Early life and Prevention
- Older people with Frailty
- Mental and Physical Multimorbidity
- Urgent and Emergency Care
Implementation Science is a 'cross-cutting' theme, as such, you will have the opportunity to support and collaborate on projects with the core themes as well as the other cross-cutting theme, Health Economics, Evaluation and Equality.
This is a great time to join the team, with the opportunity to shape the next phase of research projects that we take on, depending on your interests. Whatever the project, critical to the role will be engaging with teams across the region to optimise study design, data collection, and the impact of your findings.
