Born in Bradford (BiB) is an internationally acclaimed applied research programme which aims to improve health and wellbeing through the development and evaluation of interventions to promote health, and the application of research into practice (www.borninbradford.nhs.uk). We have a vision to promote a healthier, fairer future for children living in deprived areas through a focus on improving environments that can influence health and life chances.
We host three birth cohort studies and a range of applied research programme all aimed at improving health of communities in Bradford and beyond. We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated research assistants to help us as required working on our portfolio of applied research.
Projects will include those within the Healthy Places research team.
Our Healthy Places research includes a range of projects aiming to explore relationships between our environment and health. Key projects include BiB Breathes and ATHLETE, both of which are working with schools across the city to measure children's exposure to pollution and develop interventions to reduce exposure.
Main duties of the job
Our Healthy Places research includes a range of projects aiming to explore relationships between our environment and health. Key projects include BiB Breathes and ATHLETE, both of which are working with schools across the city to measure children's exposure to pollution and develop interventions to reduce exposure.
We are looking for Research Assistants to play a key role in these projects and the wider BiB research programme. The postholders will work in the community collecting data, and conducting qualitative research. They will work closely with colleagues from BiB and the University of Bradford, University of York, University of Leeds. They will have experience of working with children and excellent interpersonal skills.
