Job summary
We are looking for a visionary, enthusiastic and passionate midwife to continue to develop services offered through the Bradford birth centre.
The successful candidate will have significant experience as a Registered Midwife. As Birth centre manager you will be professionally accountable for providing clinical, operational and managerial leadership and co-ordination with a positive approach and be able to co-ordinate safe, high quality, 1:1 care across the birth centre team.
You will be required to participate in the unit bed manager role which coordinates patient flow and bed management throughout our busy unit and participate in the senior 'on call' rota out of hours.

We have a strong reputation for providing our midwives with a local induction and preceptorship programme and creating developmental opportunities for staff to expand and grow as practitioners and leaders. All this support prepares midwives to work confidently and effectively in a busy and challenging environment. We have also implemented and embedded the A-EQUIP model, the role of the Professional Midwifery Advocate, pastoral support midwife and legacy midwives.
Main duties of the job
To provide expert clinical advice in relation to the education, management and leadership of the Birth centre team of midwives and support staff.
To lead, manage and co-ordinate activity within the Birth centre with 24 hour accountability
To lead on the development, planning and future implementation of services in line with evidenced based practice, government drivers, national and local recommendations, and initiatives.
To work with department teams, peers and matrons to support, promote and enable the provision of continuity of care and all elements of safer midwifery practice within the department context
