Job summary

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and aspiring Physiotherapists to join our dynamic and friendly service to gain valuable experience working in a Hospital Foundation Trust.

Most attractive aspect of the Post:

We offer 6 month rotations across a wide variety of locations including Hospital, intermediate and community settings enabling staff to consolidate core skills and then to develop knowledge and skills in more specialist rotations.

We currently offer rotations in:

  • Orthopaedics
  • Respiratory / ITU
  • Musculoskeletal Outpatients and Gym (including Community settings)
  • Elderly / Medicine (across both Acute and Community settings)
  • Neuro - rehabilitation (across both Acute and Community settings)
  • Vascular
  • Rheumatology

Main duties of the job

All staff will have a named clinical supervisor and will be supported through an in-service training programme specific to the rotation and weekly clinical reasoning sessions. Further support comes from the wider clinical team which includes static and rotational Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Therapy Assistants and administrative support. Teams also have access to Advanced Practice Physiotherapists.

All newly qualified practitioners are supported through the Preceptorship programme which helps successful applicants to bridge the gap from being a student to working in their first clinical role as an autonomous professional.

There is opportunity for involvement in service development, audit and clinical governance and all staff takes part in the Trust's appraisals programme.

The services provide 7 day cover in some areas and the successful applicant must be prepared to work weekends and extended days and to take part on the On Call rota.
