Job summary
FIXED TERM TILL 31.08.24
Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a band 2 Administration Assistant to work within their Fracture Liaison Service (FLS).
Fragility fractures are often the first sign of osteoporosis and usually occur as a result of a minor fall. They are one of the leading healthcare costs across Europe, with data predicting an exponential rise in fragility fracture numbers across Europe by 2030.
An FLS systematically identifies and captures all eligible adult patients within a local population who have suffered a fragility fracture, with the aim of reducing their risk of subsequent fractures.
Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has been chosen to be part of an AI Clinical Research study, ADOPT - identifying incidental vertebral fractures. This role will directly support the study.
The FLS Administrator will work closely alongside the current Administrator and Practitioners as part of a team identifying fragility fracture patients, and supporting them. The Administrator role involves being responsible for accurate entry onto local spreadsheets, and uploading data onto National Fracture Liaison Service database. The new research project means increased workload and administration support is vital. You will also work closely with the orthopaedic, bone densitometry, rheumatology and orthogeriatric teams. There will be opportunities to work within the Trauma Administration team in addition to FLS.
Main duties of the job
within the Trauma Administration team in addition to FLS.
Please note this is a full time (37.5 hour per week) post, but hours could be reasonably flexible within agreed parameters.
Bradford is a vibrant, diverse, multicultural city with a wide range of entertainment and leisure activities available locally. There are good road/rail networks to Leeds and the M62 corridor, with easy access to the Yorkshire Dales and the Pennines.
For further information or for an informal chat, contact Fragility Fracture Liaison Lead Nurse, Janine Connor - on 07534 958749.
We can offer staff gymnasiums on both hospital sites, excellent pension scheme and advice on childcare.
