Brief Description of the Role:
The Estates Department are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Senior Estates Manager to assist the Head of Estates Maintenance in ensuring the effective maintenance and operation of all buildings, plant and associated services in an efficient, economical and safe manner in accordance with all statutory, NHS Trust and departmental guidelines. Candidates should have relevant experience in managing both directly employed trades staff and external contractors. This includes management of all building related systems and infrastructure which includes but not limited to:
- Asbestos Management
- Passive Fire Safety Systems
- Confined Spaces
- Surface and underground drainage
- Signage
- Roofs including edge protection and mansafe systems.
Main duties of the job
It is anticipated that the post holder will hold the following qualifications and skills:
- Completed a recognised apprenticeship to City & Guilds level or equivalent.
- Educated to a minimum of a Degree / Professional qualification in a relevant industry.
- At least 3 years experience of working in this type of post at a manager level.
- Experience of operations and maintenance of buildings, engineering plant, services and equipment.
- Experience of risk management.
- Knowledge and experience of Health & Safety.
- Willing to undertake training to fulfil the requirements of the post.
- Good communication and customer care skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team or on own initiative
