Job summary
An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen for a proactive, self-motivated and experienced nurse to further develop their management skills and provide clinical and professional nursing leadership to the Adult out-Patient Outpatient team, SLH
We are looking to appoint a dynamic and skilled individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide visible nursing leadership, with an ability to positively influence clinical pathways and an understanding of the issues and challenges associated with delivering patient care in outpatient environments.
You must be enthusiastic and passionate about delivering high standards of patient centred care and be a professional role model for the areas of responsibility; ensuring patients receive a positive experience in partnership with the multi-disciplinary team.
It is essential that you have a good understanding of the challenges in relation to the areas of responsibility and the skills required to support patients, families, carers and staff. You must also demonstrate excellent organisational skills, an understanding of change management processes, and the ability to inspire, lead and develop a team. You must be forward thinking and be open to developing and progressing new ideas and innovative ways of working.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse on the appropriate part of the NMC register
- Post registration experience at band 6
- Teaching and assessing qualification
- Evidence of current CPD
Main duties of the job
Has 24 hour responsibility for the outpatient department.
Has continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of patient care establishing evidence based practice.
The post holder will demonstrate clinical expertise to positively influence clinical pathways and existing roles within a supportive framework of management, education and research.
Responsible for the delivery of advanced nursing skills with complex patient care pathways.
Will provide nursing leadership to the clinical team in the development of care systems, protocols and guidelines.
Responsible for the teaching, mentoring and the assessment of students, trainees and professional staff, promoting a learning culture.
