Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an aspiring senior nurse looking to develop their management skills and undertake a Band 6 role at Westwood Park Diagnostic Treatment Centre.

The post holder must have a genuine interest in day case investigations and outpatient clinics, be forward thinking, able to manage change and be able to meet the needs of our patients and staff with a positive attitude.

The post holder must have 2 years' experience in a surgical setting. Previous theatre/endoscopy/urology experience is desirable but not essential.

We are looking for a motivated enthusiastic nurse with good interpersonal skills to work in this demanding and challenging area.

The successful candidate will have line management responsibility and would be expected to manage people alongside training and clinical supervisory responsibilities.

The sister/charge nurse role will contribute to the operational management of a safe and quality service delivery at Westwood Park DTC, management of the workforce, budgetary oversight, patient experience, recruitment and retention of staff and effective patient management and flow.

Main duties of the job

An important aspect of the role will be promoting a positive, supportive working environment which values and supports staff. Good leadership and communication skills are essential and this will need to be demonstrated at interview. Individuals should be flexible and be able to demonstrate they are an excellent role model with the ability to develop positive and professional interpersonal relationships.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate key leadership skills and evidence of professional development.
