Job summary

A Band 4 opportunity has arisen on Ward 2, Short Stay Surgical Unit within the Division of Anaesthesia, Diagnostics and Surgery

Our short stay surgical unit are looking to recruit enthusiastic and well-motivated Band 4 Nursing Associates to join the team. This is a new role and you will be working directly alongside the nursing and medical teams to deliver excellent standards of nursing care within our acute surgical pathway.

The Short Stay Surgical Unit will provide care for acute surgical patients including higher acuity monitoring of patients during their initial stay within the trust. There will be opportunities to develop new skills and further career progression.

To exercise accountability as set out in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct

Work within BTHFT policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure high clinical standards.

To contribute to all nursing care ,providing care for patients including those with complex needs.

Working as a member of the nursing team under the direction of a Registered Nurse to provide and monitor care.

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic, motivated staff with excellent communication skills to join our forward thinking and dynamic short stay surgical team .You must have a passion for delivering kind and compassionate care and be willing to learn and develop within your role. Recruiting capable and committed staff is essential to maintaining our high standards of quality, safety and patient experience.

Main duties of the job

An important aspect of the role will be promoting a positive, supportive working environment which value's and supports staff. Good communication skills are essential and this will need to be demonstrated at interview. Individuals should be flexible and be able to demonstrate they are an excellent role model with the ability to develop positive and professional interpersonal relationships.
