Based at Bradford Royal Infirmary, Bradford Teaching Hospitals has an exciting role available for an experienced, highly motivated and enthusiastic Facilities Manager with responsibility for the comprehensive operational management of the security team (BRI and SLH) and overall management of security associated systems such as, CCTV/Body worn Cameras, Access Control, Intruder Alarm, Deister Patrol etc.
The postholder will work in partnership with the LSMS/VPR lead, internal/external stakeholders including, clinical and non-clinical teams and Police.

Main duties of the job
The postholder will be responsible for the comprehensive operational management of the Security Team (BRI & SLH sites) and Security Control Room ensuring that Security Services are delivered in an effective and efficient way, enabling BTHFT to provide high quality healthcare through a safe and secure environment that protects patients, staff and visitors, their property and the physical assets of the organisation, and in compliance with policies, procedures, law and legislation.
Reporting to the Head of Facilities will provide managerial supervision and leadership to support the security team, encouraging and developing a culture of excellent customer service and professionalism across the Trust.
The postholder will provide an inclusive approach to security management work ensuring the involvement of the LSMS/VPR lead as well as internal and external stakeholders as appropriate. Developing close working relationships with the Head of Facilities, Senior Management Team, Managers and staff.
Duties will include overall management of security associated systems (CCTV/Body worn Cameras, Access Control, Intruder Alarm, Deister Patrol etc.) to enable, monitoring, analysis and production of reports to support development of proposals for improvement as well as providing service specific performance target assurance.
About us
The postholder will need to work closely with all members of the Security team, the wider Facilities team and the Estates & Facilities Leadership team.
They may be required to communicate with staff at all levels outside of Estates & Facilities across BTHFT, and also external agencies, and statutory bodies.
Maintain contact with clinical groups and other health care professionals and colleagues within other operational groups across the Trust.

- Overall operational responsibility for all aspects of the security services function, as defined, promoting quality and service improvements, legislative compliance, delivery of NHS initiatives with a customer driven approach.
- To ensure that security services are delivered to the required specification and standards in line with Trust Policy and procedure, law and legislation. Identifying areas of non-compliance within service area and recommending appropriate actions to ensure compliance.
- To take responsibility for the management, development and co-ordination of the work of the security team. To ensure that effective communication systems are in place and to ensure team briefs and staff meetings are regularly carried out.
- Ensure accurate and timely investigation of all risk incidents putting in place measures to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure robust procedures are in place to cover service requirements at all times during periods of annual leave or sickness through the use of rotas etc. ensuring adequate provision of service at all times.
- Provide proactive crime prevention / professional best practice security advice and support to staff and departments. Maximise opportunities for the Trust to prevent or minimise security breaches and incidents by learning from operational experience of previous incidents.
- Undertaking specific security related risk assessments as and when required to identify security weaknesses that could affect the safety of staff, patients, visitors and the protection of trust and personal assets, formulating action plans to improve security resilience.
- To manage all security associated systems CCTV, Body Worn Cameras, Deister Patrol, Access Control, Intruder Alarm, ensuring a robust monitoring process is in place. Analysing trends and risk information and producing reports to support development proposals as well as providing service specific performance target assurance.
- Ensure all systems and usage is compliant with relevant legislation such CCTV Code of Practice, DPA, Human Rights Act , Health and Safety, Information Governance etc.
- Provide guidance and facilitate access to the CCTV system for the purpose of Police and internal investigations in line with the Trust CCTV policy
- To be actively involved in the budget setting process, by attending meetings as necessary and providing appropriate and relevant information. Monitor budgets and interrogate financial reports, identify anomalies and errors and submit queries to the Finance Department (where required).
- The jobholder will ensure that the service is delivered within budget and will identify annual cost improvements.
- Ensure good quality information is captured across security services in a timely and efficient manner and recorded on the appropriate systems, thus allowing data and information retrieval to be accessed quickly and effectively to meet the needs of all recipients requiring it.

- Undertake security related internal and system audits as directed
- Responsible for the recruitment and selection and induction of Security staff as and when required as well as delegation of duties, organisation of working rotas, signing off time sheets (bank/agency), authorisation of additional duties/hours, annual leave and management of absence.
