We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated, forward thinking and dynamic Occupational Therapist to join our established Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy service. This is an exciting opportunity to develop a new role in supporting therapy discharges from Bradford Royal Infirmary and working with our community therapy teams to support people meet their therapy goals following an acute admission.
We are looking to appoint an individual who is innovative and dynamic with a keen interest in service development. The post holder will have a key role in advancing our services, continually promoting best practice and developing new pathways to ensure the seamless transfer of care between acute and community therapy. This maybe in the form of early supported discharge, one off therapy follow up or transfer to longer term rehabilitation.
The post holder should have experience in service development or change management.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and able to take the lead in service improvement initiatives. Although the main base for this post will be at the BRI, the post holder will work closely with all 3 community teams based at Horton Park, Westwood Park, and Shipley Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be instrumental in leading service development, teaching and clinical supervision of staff, waiting list management and prioritisation.
The teams are integrated Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy teams who are supportive and motivated. The caseload is both varied and challenging in terms of complexity and variety. The community teams see adults of all ages living at home which includes residential/nursing care settings. The role will involve the clinical management of a wide range of patients including those with long term conditions and chronic pain, falls, frailty etc.
We are looking to recruit an Occupational Therapist who has experience in managing a community caseload, with understanding of current best practice in the acute setting. They will have excellent communication skills and can work effectively as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team. They will be able to demonstrate a passion for Occupational Therapy, a flexible approach and a drive to develop themselves and the service they work in.
The successful candidate will be supported by therapy co-ordinators form community and acute settings alongside other Therapists and Therapy Assistant colleagues, including wider multi-disciplinary teams. They will have access to a comprehensive IST programme and dedicated time for personal development.
A British driving licence is essential, as is access to a car with business insurance (reasonable adjustment will be considered).
