Job summary

We are excited to announce that we have the opportunity for a motivated and forward-thinking Occupational Therapist(s) to join the rehabilitation team for the Bradford District and Craven Post Covid Pathway.

We currently have the following vacancies:

1.10 x WTE Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist (Full-time, Part-time, Job share, Flexible working)

Flexible working patterns and contracted hours will be considered within for the role advertised and we would encourage you to discuss this on an individual basis.

We support home, virtual and out-patient clinic based working due to the area that we cover across Bradford, Airedale, and Craven with a personalised approach to patient care. Patient contact may vary from telephone, video, or face to face, individual and / or group sessions.

Within the service there are opportunities to gain experience and further develop a service that is at the height of innovation and integration. There is rapid progress in the use of technology to provide and evaluate patient care which is heavily utilised within the Post Covid Pathway.

Main duties of the job

This role encourages occupational therapists to use their core skills in rehabilitation to promote and support patients to self-manage their symptoms / condition.

You will have the opportunity to run and continue the development of group-based interventions. Whilst also utilising 1:1 work with patients for a more individualised approach.

You will have the opportunity to develop / build on existing clinical skills within the core areas of:

Fatigue Management

Vocational Rehabilitation

Cognitive Rehabilitation / Managing Brain Fog symptoms

As a team we currently provide a range of group-based interventions in the following areas: sleep, stress management, brain fog / cognition, fatigue management, remaining in work, returning to work, breathing pattern disorder, functioning around breathing, mindfulness for health, gentle movement, as well as weekly drop-in sessions for mindfulness and mindful movement.

We believe this is an exciting opportunity to join a system wide team at the forefront of collaborative rehabilitation and evolving research to apply within the pathway giving patients the personalised care required to progress towards their goals.

With close links to Bradford University and system wide support across Bradford Teaching Hospitals, Bradford District Care Trust and Airedale NHS Foundation trust we can offer training opportunities that may be required to help meet the needs of this patient group.

About us

he long covid team provides a holistic service putting self-management and rehabilitation at the centre of the care we provide for our service users. We strive to provide the right level of care that the patient requires at that time.

Working as part of a large MDT including Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Mental Health Nursing, Speech and Language therapy and Long Covid Assessors enables us to think innovatively about how we meet the complex needs of our clients. We also have access to respiratory, cardiology and rehabilitation specialist consultants at regular MDT meetings.
