Job summary

Responsible for the assessment of patients' care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of patient care.

Participates in team leadership and the management of the ward/department, including supervision and delegation of work to junior staff as directed by the ward/department manager

Participates in teaching, mentoring and assessing of students, trainees and professional staff

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the ENT and Max Fax team here at the Bradford Royal Infirmary.Ward 18 is a 22 bedded unit and a 4 bedded progressive care unit, consisting of trauma and elective caseloads across both specialties which include major head and neck surgery, flap reconstruction and complex airway management. Candidates will have the opportunity to develop their skills in both areas and in particular tracheostomy care and emergency tracheostomy management.This is a very busy environment with a wide variety of complex clinical cases and as such, the successful candidate must possess excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills (experience within the field of ENT and Max Fax is desirable but not essential).

Main duties of the job

We are committed to delivering high standards of multi-disciplinary patient focused care; the post holder would be an integral part of this process and will be essential to improving service delivery.

The post is based at the Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

A structured preceptorship period of training and development will be provided with the support of the Practice Development Nurse and/or training department.
