The Nutrition and Dietetic Services of Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (BTHFT) and Airedale NHS Foundation Trust (ANHSFT) are excited to announce an opportunity for an enthusiastic dietitian to develop their clinical and leadership skills within the new Bradford District and Craven (BDC) Nutrition Support Team.
This exciting newly commissioned service supports the prevention, identification and treatment of adult malnutrition across our district. You, in collaboration with other members of the team, will have the opportunity to help develop and shape this service to provide a quality, modern model of care and delivery that works well for our local community. You will be developing and delivering nutritional support training programmes across community health, social and voluntary care services and care homes to enable a workforce skilled in the prevention, identification and management of malnutrition and dehydration and working closely with other multi-disciplinary teams in the community. Exploring new ways of utilising and maximising technology to support patients, carers and health professionals in treating malnutrition.
Applicants should be HCPC registered/registration pending dietitians and a driver's licence and own transport is essential for the post.
Main duties of the job
You will also provide home based one-to-one dietetic care for those individuals with nutritional care needs and contributing to the development of integrated nutrition/hydration policies and clinical pathways across community settings. You should be flexible, enthusiastic with excellent communication and interpersonal skills; a great team player with a proactive approach to both collaborative working and autonomous working when needs require them, and able to contribute to the on the ongoing development of the team.
The post will suit dietetic graduates wishing to start their career in a supportive team with opportunities to progress their career, as well as experienced band 5 dietitians looking to develop their clinical and leadership skills. You would be highly valued, trusted and supported by team members in this collaborative team and would enjoy a varied and interesting role with fantastic opportunities for development.
The BDC Nutrition Support Team is a unique collaboration between the Nutrition and Dietetic Services of ANHSFT and BTHFT and hosts 2 clinical teams (North Team and South Team), which consist of:
- Clinical Lead Dietitian
- Highly specialist dietitians / Team Leads
- Specialist Dietitians
- Dietetic Assistant Practitioners
- Team Admin Co-Ordinator
About us
This is an agile working post which will include some working from home, and some office based work. This post within the South team is employed by BTHFT and clinical work will be within the South / Bradford District geographical area, but you will be required to work or travel across sites in the BDC area on occasion for team meetings etc. BTHFT Nutrition & Dietetics Department is based at St Luke's Hospital with additional offices at Westbourne Green Community Hospital.
