Job summary
We are looking for a Test Lead to work within the Going Digital Programme Team to ensure new, emerging and updated software/hardware solutions are fit for purpose prior to live use.
The jobholder will manage all testing activities within the Going Digital Programme, including but not limited to, documentation and escalation of test results, incidents and issues which arise during pre-implementation and 'go-live' periods of projects. The jobholder will carry direct management responsibility for system testers, including day to day supervision and identification of training and development needs. Specific expectations include:
- Requirements analysis, Test planning and preparation.
- Creation and management of test scripts.
- Creation of test reports to approve releases into the live domain or to manage defects.
- Oversight, review and continuous improvement of testing processes.
- Automation of manual tests using common test tools.
- Experience of working with Cerner Millennium and/or within NHS would be beneficial.
Main duties of the job
As the Foundation Trust's Test Lead the jobholder will be responsible for the entirety of testing activities within the Going Digital programme; sharing knowledge and maintaining engagement with colleagues towards achievement within the key results areas. Specifically this will include:
- Working with the Going Digital Programme Manager to prioritise projects requiring testing activities.
- Developing and getting approval for the testing strategy for each application/project.
- Developing and agreeing test plans for each application/project in conjunction with the project team and system owners.
- Identifying the resources required to deliver the testing required for each application/project.
- Leading the recruitment of additional testers where applicable and where funding allows.
- Carry out detailed testing and formally document test results.
- Manage the relationship with the end-users to ensure active engagement which will deliver documented test results and final sign-off.
- Keep abreast of new developments in software testing methods and industry good practice
- Contribute to policy and protocol development including ensuring adherence to requirements for test administration and document control in line with ISO requirements and best practice
