Job summary
We are seeking an exceptional and accomplished leader who is currently serving as a Chief Operating Officer or an experienced Deputy Chief Operating Officer within a comparable organisation.
As Chief Operating Officer and a voting member of the Board the post holder is responsible for the daily and ongoing operational delivery of services for patients and communities, according to the Trust's operational plan and strategic intent. They will lead the delivery of high-quality clinical services and co-ordinate effect day to day performance management across clinical care groups.
They will share collective corporate responsibility and accountability for the management, performance and governance of our organisation and its services. They will work closely with colleagues as a member of our executive team and with internal and external stakeholders to deliver our vision, operating in accordance with our valueMain duties of the job
The post holder has executive level responsibility for:
Ensuring the highest quality, effective and efficient health care services are operationally delivered within available resources to meet all necessary standards of safety, quality and patient access.
Actively lead, along with other Executive Directors, in the formulation of Trust strategy and business plans.
Provide strong, visible leadership for the day to day management of the Trust with an absolute focus on the delivery of high quality patient care through direct line management of the Trust operational structure, Emergency Preparedness and Response (EPRR) and Performance Improvement Function.

Work and operate on a system wide basis ensuring services are optimised for the people of Devon.
