Job summary
Your role will be to be the clinical lead and expert for Enhanced Therapeutic Observations of Care (ETOC) for the organisation. Your role will be key in ensuring that all enhanced care is provided therapeutically, to a high standard and in accordance with Trust policies and best practice.
You will use excellent communication and risk assessment skills to support clinical teams to understand the needs of patients, to develop person-centred care plans and to monitor the effectiveness of interventions, to aid recovery and reduce length of stay. The role also involves management and leadership of the ECSO practitioners, alongside NHSP
Main duties of the job
To support the delivery of safe, high-quality care to patients requiring Enhanced Therapeutic Observations and Care.
Be accountable and take direct responsibility for carrying out specialist assessments including risk assessments. Develop, implement, evaluate and document specialist care.
To support the education and skills development of nursing teams in ETOC and related themes such as Mental Health diagnoses, legal frameworks such as the Mental Capacity Act and the Mental Health Act.
To support the efficient and appropriate use of Health Care Support Workers and Enhanced Care Support Officers staffing through specialist assessment of patient need and risk.
Acting as an expert resource for Senior Leaders and front-line nursing teams
Be clinically visible and accessible in approach to support the workforce, patients, carers, and relatives.
