Job summary
We're looking for an experienced, enthusiasticBand 6 Occupational Therapist to join our innovative, integrated Neurodiversity Team. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals passionate about supporting our developing Neurodiversity Pathway model.
Our pathway provides specialist assessment and short-term intervention for children, young people, and their families where needs relate to neurodevelopmental conditions, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Tics and Tourette Syndrome.
You'll be part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team, working closely with colleagues across pathways and in partnership with local Paediatric services, education providers, and other agencies. Important Information Regarding Service ChangesWe are currently entering into a formal consultation process to move all Children and Family Health Devon (CFHD) staff to a single provider. As part of this process, staff currently employed by Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust will transfer to Devon Partnership NHS Trust on 1 April 2026. Please note that this may result in some differences in recruitment documentation and processes during this transition period.
Main duties of the job
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the continued development of an innovative care pathway for children and young people with neurodiversity. As a key member of our team, you will play an essential role in shaping the future support in Devon for neurodivergent children and young people.
As an OT within our Neurodiversity pathway, your responsibilities will include:
- To conduct high-quality, specialist assessments to better understand the needs of neurodivergent children and young people.
- To provide good quality evidence-based time limited interventions to children, young people and their families.
- Offering clinical supervision to the wider team when required, fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment.
- To provide guidance, advice, and training to colleagues, families, and partner agencies through consultative work. Your expertise will promote a unified and cooperative approach to supporting neurodivergent individuals.
- You will have the opportunity to maintain informed with the latest research and best practices in the field of neurodiversity.
