Vascular Access Clinical Support Worker

Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a specialist team providing vascular access to the trust. The post holder will be responsible for providing a high quality holistic service for patients who require vascular access trust wide.You will be required to work a combination of weekday shifts, ensuring a smooth patient pathway from referral, insertion and training of patients (when applicable) to discharge.

Main duties of the job
- Prioritising and scheduling of patients from in-patient wards, day case waiting list and outpatient referrals.
- Expert practice in ultrasound guided venepuncture, insertion of cannulas, management of vascular access device associated complications.
- Promoting clinical excellence in vascular access device care and acting as support for other healthcare professionals.
- Staff education and assessment in the care and maintenance of vascular access devices.
