Job summary

We are excited to be advertising for a Registered Nurse for the Specialist Learning Disability Service with a focus on mental health and children with a Learning Disability.

The Service is a consist of Learning Disability and other registered nurses. Clinical Psychologists , Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners, Occupational Therapists & Assistant Practitioners who offer a range of services for children and adolescents with a diagnosed Learning Disability and Autism from assessment and intervention to consultation, liaison and training for other agencies.

The service can support Children & Adolescents with a moderate to profound Learning Disability, in conjunction with complex behavioural , health or sleep issues related to this diagnosis.

Main duties of the job

Work within the Specialist Learning Disability Service, providing support and supervision to clinicians working across the Specialist Learning Disability Service and all other integrated pathways

Ensure a strengths-based approach to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions to support complex packages of care for children with additional needs in the community

Contribute to risk assessment and care planning in collaboration with children, young people and their carers

Provide assessment, advice and specialist interventions to children, young people and their families and to hold a caseload of children with complex needs, leading on the mental health need's for CYP with a Learning Disability. Provide case management of an identified caseload of children and young people with highly complex long-term conditions and complex needs by utilising and promoting evidence-based care
