Our Library Clerk will assist in maintaining a high standard of support service to the directorates and departments throughout Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, with their requirements regarding patients' case notes.

Main duties of the job

o Delivering high volumes of patient records to various departments around the Hospitalo Adhering to the Health Records delivery scheduleo Involve repetitive heavy lifting of patient records in boxes and bagso When working in the library there will be an expectation to retrieve and filecase notes accurately and in a timely mannero Ability to work under pressure both independently and as a team player

Job responsibilities

  • Maintain accuracy when pulling and filing case notes within the Health Records Library
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Pulling and filing of case notes within the Health Records Library
  • Tracering, sending and delivering case notes in Medical Records boxes/bags
  • Delivering and collecting case notes from various pick up points throughout the hospital
  • Moving boxes of records to dispatch areas
  • Answer and action requests from the A&E telephone
  • Cover the service desk and action requests
  • Locating misfiled notes within the Records Library
