Job summary

Facilities Assistant - Ward Catering

The Catering Department is looking for dedicated people to join our ward catering team.

The successful candidates will be required to complete training for food service processes in line with HACCP (Food safety standards level 2).

You will be expected to carry out all tasks related to the service of patients for which full training will be given.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate good literacy and numeracy skills, be prepared to carry out training, be able to work well in a team or on their own, and be capable of undertaking physical work on a daily basis.

Facilities Caterers will be working on wards

  • experience in the Food Safety or Food Service environment, or any type of cleaning in the hospitality/professional environment.

AM/PM Shift Patterns: 07.00am - 13.00pm or 12.00noon - 18:00pm (6 hour shifts) - Approximate timings between these hours

  • To familiarise themselves with and adhere to current Infection Prevention and Control policies relevant to them and their area of work
  • To take responsibility to ensure the workplace is kept clean and tidy so that it is safe for all other users of that area. To communicate any identified infection risks to the Infection Prevention and ControlTeam and where appropriate report any Healthcare Associated Infections in line with the Trusts Incident Reporting Policy. To take part in the safety improvement projects related to infection prevention andin particular follow the Trust requirements regarding hand hygiene.
